Missile Debris Injures Civilians Near Khalifa Economic Zones in Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi Media Office noted on social media platform X that the incident occurred “in the vicinity of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi - KEZAD” and resulted from “falling debris following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by air defence systems.”
All five injured individuals, who are of Indian nationality, suffered wounds described as “from moderate to minor,” according to reports. Further information on their medical condition or damage at the site has not been released.
Authorities urged the public to rely solely on verified sources for information. “The public is advised to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information,” the statement emphasized.
Officials did not indicate the exact time of the incident or whether additional security precautions had been activated.
The incident comes amid ongoing military operations in the region, as US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28 have reportedly killed more than 1,340 people. In retaliation, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks against Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US forces, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
